Victorian Festival

Another festival and parade this weekend in our town...

The Victorian Festival.

This year Dawson, as a 3rd grader, had a whole day of school dedicated to The Victorian Festival.
They all dressed in period clothing (authentic - all the way down to the crocs) and walked to our town's historical village, for activities throughout the day.  
In the evening, all of the 3rd graders were part of the parade downtown .  David chaperoned, Jamie also dressed up to go along (and help throw candy at people), and I stayed on the sidewalk, to watch, with Dylan and our neighbors.

Jamie's 7th Birthday

Jamie turned 7 this week.
And...in other news...and she has two fractures in her hand (playground accident)...so the birthday girl had a trip to the E.R. and a cast put on earlier this week.
She was not very upset about the actual pain, she was more sad that she broke something and needed a cast...which would affect her birthday party and would also give her too much attention at school.

With that pretty face, you barely even notice the cast that she is rocking.

Seven Years Old

This is Jamie's friend, Maddy, who came along for her birthday celebration.
She had Maddy, Audrey and Carly come with her to Sweet and Sassy...which is a little girl's salon/spa.
Why didn't I come up with this place?  And...Why didn't it exist when I was little?

They had manis, pedis, makeovers and squealed with girly excitement at all the super glittery, sweet smelling stuff there.

Told them all to wink at me...this is what I got.

Ten Months

With all of the back-to-school craziness and getting into a routine again, I almost forgot that this wee one is already ten months old!
She is happy as can be - almost always - and is constantly on the go.  I think she sits still and stays quiet less than Jamie, if that is possible.  We have some major trouble in the works, when she figures out how to use those legs for uses other than just standing up and down.  A few days ago we left her for literally, four or five seconds in the hallway...turned back around to find her halfway up the staircase.  

Thinking about it.
