Kindergarten Field Trip - Cider Mill

Jamie's first kindergarten field trip was today. I went with the kids & their 5th grade buddies to our local Cider Mill (The oldest business in town. True Fact. That is what I learned on the trip.)

Neighboorhood Playset

At the end of the summer we made a joint purchase, with our next door neighbors, and bought this playset for all the kids to use. So far they have played on it everyday after school, so it seems to have been a great buy.

Fall Extra-Curricular

Detroit Science Center

I forgot to post these earlier...but the weekend of Jamie's birthday, Grandpa & Grandma O. took Dawson and me to the Detroit Science Center. (Jamie stayed home with daddy since since she still had a sugar hangover from her birthday party, and desperately needed a nap.) Dawson loved the place, and we couldn't stay very long. He did get the chance to see his first IMAX movie though, which was pretty cool. We will definately need to go back. There is so much to do in Detroit, that we haven't had the time to do yet, even though we have been here for almost 6 years.

This Bosch exhibit at the Science Center has something to do with what David does at work. Ask him to explain, not me.

Jamie is 5!

Happy Birthday Jamie! She is now a whole hand old!

Since we do not currently have an appropriate home, for celebrating in, we had a party downtown at a friend's coffee house. It worked out pretty well and Jamie had a blast! All of the requests she had were fulfilled: Princess Stuff, Pink & Purple Cake, Pinata, Pizza & Candy. That - plus the cotton candy, from earlier in the day, pretty much made her year. We missed a few people there, but I think all the sugar kept her from noticing that people were absent.

She can't help, but to test it...and it is her party right?

New Cousin!

Congrats to Shontel & Joel on their 3rd baby boy...Peter Mark.

1st Day

School started today.

Jamie is now officially at big kid school - in kindergarten (1/2 day mornings).

Dawson is officially in all day big kid school - in 1st grade. He has a new hairdo for the occasion.

America's Roller Coast

We ended up with a really, really hot day for a visit to Cedar Point last week. We had fun anyway.

There are so many things to love about Cedar Point! (Unless you don't like roller coasters. Sorry David. It is the highlight of my summer though, and the kids have a blast there.) Thanks Mom and Dad for the fun day!
