Abby's Wedding

Our former nanny, Abby, was married this weekend. The kids were so excited to see her again (she moved out of state) and to see her get married!
We miss her a lot, and were so blessed to have her in our lives for the years she was here.  She was a very big part of Dawson and Jamie's lives.  I tear up just thinking about how great she was with them and how much she did for us while they were still just babies.
The girls were so excited to see Abby...they waited very impatiently for her to take pictures after the ceremony.
Carly was about to burst if she didn't get to talk to Abby soon...

Finally!

Current nanny, Paula (also awesome), is getting married next month.  Yay, another fun wedding this summer!
I realized after posting all these photos that I didn't get one of Abby with her new husband Brian.  If I get one from someone, I'll add it to the post, because they really are a great couple!

Paula and David...more to come in June...

I love Carly's face...she could not get enough of Abby!

Baseball Season

It is baseball season again!
He is getting so big...and they are getting so smart out on the field.
Hard to believe that this is his 5th year of baseball already.  This year he is on the Durham Bulls, and a lot of his friends from school are on the team.  It will be a fun season!
A look back...
Dawson started his baseball career on the Durham Bulls, in 2008 (4 years old).  So cute and so excited! (Still is!)
Jamie, as always,is thrilled to be watching.

Spring Piano Recital

May and June are very busy months for us...A spring piano recital was just the beginning.
Lots of baseball games, dance recital rehersals, field trips, school projects, weddings and more...coming soon...

Caleb's Birthday Party

On Mother's Day we celebrated Caleb's 5th birthday at Rachel & Kyle's house.  Happy Birthday Caleb!

Mother's Day

I forgot to post something about Mother's Day.  (Hope all you moms had a great day!)  These pictures were taken a couple days after, so...close enough.

This is the card that Jamie gave me.  She drives me crazy sometimes, but man, she is great!

This is not a Mother's Day card...but, there are some interesting wishes.  Poor kid.  I hate to be the dream crusher, but chances are only one or two of these will really come true.

Botanical Gardens Field Trip

Last week Dawson's class went on a field trip to the U of M Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum
I went along to lead a group (these guys) and we had a great day!

Giant agave plant
Can't remember what kind of cactus this is, but thought it was neat.

6 Months

Happy 6 Months!

Dylan 6 Month News:
  • 14 lbs, wearing size 2 diapers and 6 month clothes.
  • Night time is a little better, with stretches of 6 hours, then up to eat and right back down to sleep, two times, in the very early morning.
  • Nap times during the day still 30 minute cat-naps all day long, with the occasional longer one maybe once or twice a week.
  • Still nursing, but starting to do more baby foods a couple times a day.  So far she is a pear and applesauce lover (who isn't?!) and does ok with the orange veg.
  • There must be a tooth about to pop, because this kid is super drooly and chews on everything possible right now.
  • She still loves sitting in the excersaucer and likes playing with the activity gym (if she can get ahold of something to chew on!)
  • Tripod sitting is the newest trick.  She can sit like that for a few seconds un-supported, until she tips over.  Should be only a few more days/weeks until she is able to sit up on her own longer.
  • It is also only a matter of time until she will be holding a bottle on her own. She is getting so close and doing it for short periods of time.  I remember that being a big milestone and time-saver, so looking forward to that one!
*This has to be my favorite baby age (6-9 mos-ish)...much easier, can't talk back, can't complain, can't go anywhere yet...just sits in one place being super cute and squishy!

All Three Babies

People keep talking about who Dylan looks like...so here are some pictures of Dawson and Jamie when they were similar ages.  Kind of a mix, I think.
(My photography skills and equipment have improved since Dawson was a baby, so the photos might not really be comparable...but the kids are equally as cute!)
Dylan - 6 months
Jamie - 5 months
Dawson - 4 months

Sleepover

Jamie and Audrey had a sleepover at our house last night.  Of course, dress-up was an integral part of their party.
